After a wildly successful appearance at The Public Theater, legendary chanteuse Jomama Jones steps back into the spotlight for a limited time only at the Greenwich House Theater with her critically-acclaimed show BLACK LIGHT. Through sultry original songs and a deeply personal narrative, Ms. Jones leads us into her radiant world, and the extraordinary community it inspires.
Jomama—the dazzling alter-ego of playwright and performer Daniel Alexander Jones—and her extraordinary ensemble of musicians and back-up singers have returned to NYC. Now, it’s your turn to be cast by her spell—and be changed forever.
JOMAMA JONES (Performer) is a soul sonic superstar. She began her career as a young R&B songstress in the early 1980s, gracing the covers of Jet magazine, Right On! and Black Beat. She also made live appearances on “Soul Train” and “Solid Gold”, before departing the U.S. for personal and political reasons. After making her comeback at Joe’s Pub in 2010 with her album “Lone Star”, Jomama has toured widely across the country, appearing in the Soho Rep shows, Radiate and Duat, as well as a number of concert appearances. She has also released the albums “Radiate”, “Six Ways Home” and “Flowering”. jomamajones.com
